Auxerre kicked off its 2026-2027 season preparations in style on Saturday, crushing Lusitanos Saint-Maur (N1) 5-0 in its first friendly. The club, currently 15th in Ligue 1 with 34 points (8 wins, 10 draws, 16 losses), dominated throughout under new manager Will Still.

Bair’s brace and promising debuts

Theo Bair, back from a loan at Lausanne, scored twice in the first half (23rd, 27th), reminding fans of his offensive potential. Young Chinese striker Xiangxin Wei, a recent arrival, netted his first goal in France (66th) before assisting Liamfia Dioubaté (18), who has yet to play in Ligue 1.

New signings shine

New recruits Mamadou Diop (Grenoble), Sékou Fofana (Lausanne Sport), and Arthur Piedfort (Westerlo) made their debuts. Aristide Zossou also scored (47th), extending Auxerre’s lead.
