Auxerre concludes its preparation with a 1-0 win over Werder Brême this Saturday. The AJA won its final friendly match of the summer thanks to a rebound by Arthur Piedfort following a cross by Naouirou Ahamada (50e). Rather convincing in the first period, Will Still's team then resisted the German team's attempt to come back in the second half. After being saved by their bar (59e), the Auxerrois appreciated the superb reflex of Mamadou Diop, the new goalkeeper from Grenoble, on a header by Karim Coulibaly (74e). Sufficient to conserve this prestige win for AJA, even if the departure of Assane Dioussé, allegedly injured in the knee in the final minutes of the match (90e + 1), somewhat tarnished this positive balance sheet. Auxerre will attack Ligue 1 on Saturday on the pitch of Lens, at 17:15, to be seen live on Ligue 1+, available on L'Équipe. The AJA is currently 16th in Ligue 1 with 24 points, 5 wins, 9 draws and 15 losses in 29 matches. The Auxerrois have scored 23 goals and conceded 37, giving them a total of -14 goals. They are 39 points behind the leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Their next match is against Nice away on February 20, 2027.
