AJ Auxerre has announced the departure of Jean-Alain Boumsong, assistant coach of Christophe Pelissier. The former AJA defender was appointed assistant coach in May 2025, but will not stay at the club despite many internal supporters. After the arrival of Will Still on the bench, Boumsong has decided to leave the Icaunaise formation where he was mainly responsible for the defense and set pieces. AJ Auxerre finished the 2025 season in 16th place in the Ligue 1 standings with 24 points, 5 wins, 9 draws and 15 losses in 29 matches. The club has also recorded 23 goals scored and 37 goals conceded, with a goal difference of -14. The championship title is currently out of reach, with 39 points behind Paris Saint-Germain. The next match for AJ Auxerre is scheduled against Nice away, on February 20, 2027. Players Assane Dioussé, Lasso Coulibaly, Marvin Senaya, Remy Labeau Lascary and Sekou Fofana are currently injured.
