AJ Auxerre is on the verge of appointing a new manager. The club's board has made significant progress in negotiations with Will Still, a 33-year-old Belgian-British coach. According to RMC Sport and Onze Mondial, a preliminary agreement has been reached on the main lines of the sporting project. A few contractual points remain to be settled before the definitive signature. Will Still has been without a club since November 2025. His stint at Southampton, in the Premier League, ended mid-season. Before that, he built his reputation in France: first at Stade de Reims, where he surprised everyone with his results, then at RC Lens. At Auxerre, he will succeed Christophe Pélissier, whose departure is still to be officially announced. The club's management has made the announcement of Pélissier's departure conditional on the prior settlement of this dossier. AJA, which plays in Ligue 1, was looking for a coach who could give the club a new impetus. Will Still, despite his mixed experience in England, retains a solid reputation in France. His profile as a young and ambitious coach fits the Auxerre project.
